The Building Digital Twin International Congress 2026 (BDTIC 2026) will take place from May 26 to 28, 2026 in Brussels (Belgium). The event is organized by the Building Digital Twin Association (BDTA) together with the ECTP (European Construction and Sustainable Built Environment Technology Platform), and will bring together industry professionals, researchers, and institutional representatives to analyze the role of Digital Twins in the future of the built environment.

Over three days, the congress will offer a program combining specialized conferences, debates, and technical workshops focused on topics such as digital building permits, artificial intelligence, and simulation, as well as networking opportunities with key stakeholders at the European level.

In this edition, Eloi Coloma, academic director of the Master’s in BIM Management. Digital Transformation and New Business Models and the Postgraduate in Building Digital Twins for Buildings at UPC School, will participate. His presentation is scheduled for May 28, within Session 2 (12:25), with the session "Construction Data Spaces II: GREENBIMxels Project".

The students of the Master’s in Design and Production of Spaces at UPC School will once again play a leading role in this edition with the artistic proposal “The Breath of Change”, promoted thanks to the collaboration with BBVA. An immersive installation that invites visitors to reflect on the processes of transformation in nature and the need to adapt to environmental changes.

The project can be visited at the church of Sant Martí, a space that is being incorporated for the first time as an intervention venue for Temps de Flors. The proposal is made possible thanks to the collaboration between Girona City Council, BBVA, and the master’s program, bringing to life creative initiatives that combine innovation, artistic sensitivity, and commitment to the environment.

The call for applications for the new edition of the DonaTIC Awards is now open. These awards are promoted by the Secretariat for Digital Policies of the Department of Business and Labour, with the aim of recognising the role and talent of women in the professional, business and academic fields of information and communication technologies (ICT). In addition, the awards seek to highlight female role models to encourage vocations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and to promote the presence of women in technological studies and engineering.

The DonaTIC Awards 2026 offer 12 distinctions, distributed across 8 categories grouped into three areas: professional; academic and emerging talent; and outreach and leading initiatives.

The deadline for submitting applications is open until April 29 at 2:00 p.m.

The National Digital Content Hub, together with the Television Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Audiovisual, the Málaga City Council, and the Junta de Andalucía, announce the II Edition of the IRIS Games Awards 2026, a leading competition in the video game sector in Spain.

The awards include a "Best Educational Center Game" category, aimed at projects developed by students in video game, animation, digital art, or related programs.

The registration period for the IRIS Games Awards will remain open until May 17.

From March 13 to April 27, the Girona branch of the COAC hosts the exhibition of works presented in a new edition of the Girona Architecture Awards. This exhibition brings together projects submitted in various categories, including Architecture, Interiors, Landscape, and Ephemeral Spaces.

The Ephemeral Spaces category includes the project Natura Resilient, with which students from our Master’s in Design and Production of Spaces participated in the 2025 edition of the Girona, Temps de Flors Festival. 

Natura Resilient represents the devastating cycle of a forest that, after being reduced to ashes by a wildfire, shows its capacity for regeneration. It is an ode to the beauty, fragility, and balance of nature, inviting us to reflect on the life we must protect. An immersive experience to raise awareness about biodiversity and the impact of deforestation.

On April 28, the selected projects shortlisted for the awards will be announced, while the winners will be revealed on May 29 at an event at the Girona College of Architects.

In addition to the jury awards, the People’s Choice Award, decided by popular vote, is also granted. Anyone can participate through the website. Voting is open until April 27, 2026.

People up to 30 years old who hold a recognised official bachelor's degree (or who are completing their final year in the corresponding academic year) may apply for the scholarship. Applicants must also not receive any economic or salary remuneration and must not be beneficiaries of any other scholarship. 

The deadline for submitting applications for the scholarship is 31 May 2026.
