On Friday, November 17, at 6:00 p.m., the Open Talent: "Mastering the Game: A Roadmap from Junior to Lead in AAA Studios" will take place in the Auditorium of the Vèrtex Building on the Campus Nord UPC, by Romà Segura and Pau Treserra, professionals from Ubisoft Barcelona. The event will also host the presentation of the video game Starfall Rebellion, the project developed by the students of the master's degree in video games at the UPC School.

Romà Segura and Pau Treserra will talk about the evolution of their careers in the video game industry. They will share with attendees their vision of the profession and the definition of those roles and points of view that make productions work and be successful. An excellent opportunity to get closer to the present and future of the video game industry in Barcelona with the help of two top professionals.

The talk will be held in English.

The speakers

  • Romà Segura i Fàbregas, Lead Gameplay Programmer at Ubisoft Barcelona.
He has been working as a Gameplay Programmer at Ubisoft since 2016. He has participated in the following projects: Beyond Good an Evil 2, Assassin's Creed III: Remaster, Rainbow Six: Siege, Star Trek Bridge Crew (VR) and Werewolves Within (VR).

  • Pau Treserra i Roca, Lead Artist at Ubisoft Barcelona.
He has worked as an Environment Artist at Ubisoft since 2017. He has participated in the level and environment art of projects such as: Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Assassin's Creed III: Remaster. Previously, he was part of Novarama participating in the projects KillSquad, Space Legend and Invizimals: Battle Hunters.

Presentation of the Starfall Rebellion video game

After the conference, the video game Starfall Rebellion (from the Horizons Games studio) will be presented, the final project that the students of the master's degree in Advanced Programming for AAA Video Games have developed throughout the 2022-2023 academic year.
