On Wednesday, 9 September, at 7 p.m., the UPC School will host a new Open Talent session dedicated to analysing the real impact of artificial intelligence on the industrial sector. AI is no longer just a technology of the future: it has become a key tool for improving process efficiency and strengthening business competitiveness.
In this round table, leading experts, industry professionals and alumni of our master's degree in Industry 4.0 will analyse how AI is being applied strategically and systematically to optimise operations, reduce costs, improve decision-making and achieve higher levels of productivity.
The speakers
The session will bring together professionals with complementary perspectives on industrial digital transformation, ranging from consultancy and business strategy to research, technological innovation and operations management.
He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, an MBA from IMD in Lausanne and is a Lean Sensei certified by the Yamada Institute in Nagoya. With 38 years of experience at multinational companies such as Philips, Sony, Continental and Volkswagen, he currently supports companies in operational excellence projects. He will contribute a consultancy perspective and examine how AI can be integrated into digital transformation processes.
An industrial electronics, automation and mechanical engineer, she currently works in the field of artificial intelligence as part of the BSC-CNS Single and Multi-Agents Research Team. Her research focuses on the application of reinforcement learning techniques in fields such as quantum computing and robotics.
An industrial engineer from the UPC with extensive experience in production and operations management in international environments. At Duscholux Spain, he promotes operational excellence and innovation initiatives. He will provide an industrial management perspective, showing how technological innovation can be combined with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
This Open Talent session will allow us to explore different perspectives on the role of artificial intelligence in industry and reflect on how companies can move towards more efficient, intelligent and competitive models.
