On Tuesday, 15 September, at 7:00 pm, we look forward to welcoming you to the UPC School (c/ Badajoz 73-77, Barcelona) for a new session in our architectural lighting lecture series. On this occasion, our guest speaker will be Ulrike Brandi, a renowned German lighting designer.

Light shapes our surroundings, but its impact goes much further: it nurtures, alters and seduces. Whether artificial or natural, light influences our emotions and the way we perceive architecture and urban spaces. Through landmark projects such as Trident Park in Malta and ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo, Ulrike Brandi will show us how to approach lighting design from a beautiful, sustainable and holistic perspective, reflecting the philosophy and systematic approach that guide her work.

This Open Talent will be held in English.

The speaker

Ulrike Brandi - Lighting Designer & Owner and CEO of Ulrike Brandi Licht GmbH

Ulrike Brandi has been the director of Ulrike Brandi Licht GmbH since 1986 and is also the director of the Brandi Institute for Light and Design.

Her studio has completed nearly 1,300 projects worldwide, including the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Day, Light and Night exhibition at the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, Terminal 2 and the satellite terminal at Munich Airport, Terminal 2 at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Amsterdam Central Station, Rotterdam Central Station, the Rotterdam Master Plan and the Royal Academy of Music in London.

She has published several books and teaches at universities around the world.

This lecture is part of the annual lecture series of the master's degree in Lighting Design. Architectural Lighting Design at the UPC School, sponsored by iGuzzini, Lutron and Lluria, leading companies in residential lighting.
