Date: Thursday 19-11-2009
Location: Tech Talent Center

On Thursday 19 November at 6.30 p.m., the second Picnic4working will be held at the Tech Talent Center (c. Badajoz, 73-77), the headquarters of the UPC School of Professional & Executive Development. These technological talks with refreshments are organised by Catalan branch of the Spanish Association of IT Professionals (ATI) with the aim of encouraging networking among IT professionals in Catalonia.

This, the second conference, will feature the participation of the following speakers, both leading names in their particular fields, who will be speaking and giving their opinions on free software:

  • Eulàlia Formentí, head of the Chair of Open-Source Software at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)
  • Jordi Vilanova, vice-president of the Catalan Association of Businesses for Free Software (CatPL)

The first half hour of the event will be dedicated to the different talks and presentations, which will be organised into 5-minute sessions. After that, refreshments will be served and those present will have the opportunity to discuss the subject of the meeting until it ends at 8 p.m.

All those interested in attending should reserve in advance by phoning 93 412 52 35 or by sending an e-mail to secrecat@ati.es

Picnic4working is an event that periodically brings together different names from the IT sector in Catalonia. The events begin with speakers giving introductions to a subject of current interest to the sector, after which refreshments are served and those attending have the opportunity to exchange professional experiences and points of view. The talks are free of charge and open to all. The first such event was held on 17 September, and proved to be a great success among professionals from the sector. The Picnic4working technology get-togethers are sponsored by Netmind and Datasix, with the collaboration of the Government of Catalonia’s Secretariat for Telecommunications and the Information Society , the UPC School of Professional & Executive Development, and the Barcelona City Council.
